Former Morogoro Regional Commissioner (RC), Joel Bendera is expected to grace the Tanzania Olympic Committee (TOC), general assembly, which takes place on Saturday in Mororogo.

Bendera, who served Morogoro region for several years, has been transferred to Manyara region in following the recent RC’s reshuffle made by President Jakaya Kikwete.
TOC Secretary General, Filbert Bayi said all is set for the general assembly to be held as all delegates who are leaders of sports associations affiliated to Olympics Solidarity are already in town ready for the meeting.
Bayi said that in the ordinary annual general meeting the delegates will get special training on how to write proposals on strategic development plans.
“This training which will certainly enhance their ability to writing development and strategic plans in their associations,” said Bayi. He added that the training will be conducted by experts, adding that many sports associations leaders in the country have failed to secure funds to run their associations and develop their respective sports due to lack of the knowhow of coming up with viable strategic development programmes.
Apart from that, Bayi said that the meeting main agenda is to discuss and approve amendments of the TOC constitution. Others activities outline for the meeting includes agendas confirmation, greeting from TOC president and confirmation of last year’s general assembly minutes.
Other agenda of the two days meeting will be approving TOC calendar for the year 2015, treasurer audit report for year 2013 and also to receive and approve TOC drafted budget for the year 2015. Before today’s meeting, yesterday TOC Executive Committee met with the Tanzania Olympians Athletes (TOA).
