The games set for May and June will act as FIVB World Cup qualifiers. As expected, Kenya will have a busy Volleyball year as women team will take part in several competitions including All Africa Games qualifiers, 2016 Olympic qualifiers, World Grand Prix, as well as beach Volleyball competitions.

Kenya will host men’s edition of the championships set for May 15-25, while women’s event will be held from June 10. At the same time, African Volleyball Federation (CAVB) also faces a busy year, with continental events from different categories dotting their calendar.

The 2015 CAVB calendar includes 11 age group events, senior and FIVB levels, as well as the Rio Olympic qualifiers. As per the FIVB decision of giving each continent four vacancies at the 2015 Senior Beach VB World Championship, there will be different phases of the CAVB Continental Cup, which will also act as an Olympic qualifier. There will also be the Africa Senior Beach volleyball World Championship qualifiers.

Tunisia has been given the mantle to host boys Youth Africa Nations Championship from January 19, with Egypt expected to host both men’s U-21 and women’s U-20 Africa Nations Championships from February 24.

In March, the Africa Club Championships is set for March and April. The men’s Africa Nations championship will be held in May 15 -25, while women’s championships is set for June 10.

In April and May, the 2015 All Africa Games Zonal qualifiers will see 11 teams (both men and women) qualify for the finals alongside hosts Congo Brazzaville. The qualifiers will be held from April 15 to May 14 at various continental zones.

The 2015 FIVB World League Intercontinental rounds begins from June 12 with the final rounds expected from July 3, where Tunisia and Egypt men teams will be Africa’s representatives.

For the first time in the history of African volleyball, the African Nations Championships were brought forward to May and June to adapt with FIVB calendar of the World Cups, which will be held from August and September. The year will end with 2016 Olympic Games zonal qualifiers as decided by CAVB during the previous Presidents’ Meeting in Cairo on  December 18.
