The 2015 volleyball transfer window has sparked off a clash among the leading clubs in the NSSF League.

The signature of Daudi Okello, of men’s champions KAVC, is the most sought after with Sport-S, Nkumba and Nemostars interested in the power attacker.

Sport-S went down to KAVC in the league playoffs finals. Nkumba and Nemostars were beaten in the semi-finals of the contest.

Nemostars had earlier been encouraged by Okello’s public declaration that he is only interested in a move either to the Kololo-based Nemostars or Sport-S VC.

But when contacted early this week Okello, who won the admiration of fans in his first season in the top flight, said that he is no longer interested in moving after being challenged by his family.

“I had wanted it but those issues are now above me. It seems there have been disagreements between the club and my caretaker (Innocent) Komakech so I’m not moving,” Okello stated.

Sport-S coach Benon Mugisha will no doubt be happy following the twist in events. Mugisha had expressed displeasure with Okello’s plan to join Nemostars instead of his team.

“I needed three power attackers and one centre blocker but Okello is more interested in Nemostars,” Mugisha had said.
