National Council of Sports (NCS) General Secretary Jasper Aligawesa has lambasted sports associations that disregarded the new regulations as ‘misguided.’
The NCS official said that associations that comply with the new NCS regulations stand to benefit from government.
“Complying (with the new regulations) gives associations a platform to demand for better facilitation,” Aligawesa said.
A group of 24 sports associations last week petitioned President Yoweri Museveni over what they deem as draconian new NCS regulations that, among other things, require all to re-register.
“This is a law. You need to obey laws of the country. If they say keep right when driving…you have to comply,” he counseled.
Aligawesa took the swipe at Lugogo, Monday while officially welcoming Thailand-based Uganda Kick-Boxer Umar Semata who won World Boxing Council (WBC) Muathai welterweight title.
