Kenya: Handball league continues this weekend

Nairobi, Kenya: The Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) national league enters the eighth round this weekend with nine matches on the cards at Nyayo National Stadium handball court.

Ulinzi will entertain league debutants, Mount Kenya University (MKU) Eldoret campus in the first encounter on Saturday morning before Ulinzi Youth take on 2012 champions Black Mamba.

Multi Media University will be seeking to return to their winning ways when they play against Kenyatta University after a defeat to Boomerang last weekend.

In another encounter, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will play against MKU Eldoret.

On Sunday, MKU Eldoret will open the court in their third encounter against Ulinzi Youth while Ulinzi will play against Boomerang thereafter.

Mku Eldoret will end their Nairobi trip when they take on Black Mamba before National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) welcomes MMU.

The only women’s encounter of the weekend will be between national league runners up NCPB and Ulinzi.

Meanwhile, Kangaru school will host the national junior championship dubbed the Eastern open tournament from 28 February to 1st March.

According to a presser from the KHF, participating teams will have to cough a fee where the seniors will part with sh 3000 while the juniors will pay sh 1500.

Teams will cater for their transport and accommodation where winners and runners up will represent the country in the forthcoming Patille Cup in Sweden later in the year.
