APR defeated Rusumo High School 3-0 in their opening game while their game against Umubano Blue Tigers which was supposed to take place last week, was postponed on request by the later because most of the players were not available.

“We want to use these games as preparation for the African Clubs Volleyball championship which starts next month but we also want to retain the league title,” APR coach Sammy Mulinge said.

In other games, Umubano Blue Tigers will host last year runners-up Rayon Sports at Rafiki in Nyamirambo, Lycee De Nyanza take on Inatek in Nyanza while Rusumo High School will be up against former champions, Kigali Volleyball Club.

In the women’s category, defending champions, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) will play away against St. Joseph, Inyemeramihigo hosts APR, Ruhango takes on IPRC-Kigali while St Alloys visits Lycee de Nyanza.
