Sport S ladies Volleyball club broke the trophy jinx on Saturday night when they defeated KAVC to lift the trophy in the Kampala International university (KIU) Volleyball open championship ladies category.

The victory has motivated the club to go for the league title this season and also perform better than last year in all the Uganda volleyball federation calendar activities.

Sport S team captain Grace Kamede told the New Vision after the 3-2 victory over traditional rivals KAVC at the mouthwatering final held at Lugogo MTN arena on Saturday night.

“It has been a long time since we tasted this victory of a title and we look forward to capitalize on and perform better in the next events,” Kamede stated.

“I’m glad that despite off all the challenges, they don’t count on court,” Kamede added.

Being an amateur sport, the club face challenges of players not being regular for training and others turn up for training when not in the mood of training.

She explained that this year they have decided to agree on what they want to be and that is going to drive them to victory.

KAVC Men wins the Jinja Open
