Kalkesh Lavingia will be searching his first title this year, after defeating Abraham Sykes by 2-0 frames in Cargostar May Snooker Mug Division A clash at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC).
In the semifinal clash played on Friday night, Kalpesh was in his best form and deservedly won the game against the Tanzania Hockey Association (THA) Chairman.
In another match, Sanjay Patadia recorded a 2-0 win over Captain, Nikhil Sangani. The match that was earlier scheduled to be played on Thursday night was postponed to Friday because Patadia was tied up with other commitments.
Patadia went on to face Irfan Alibai in the quarterfinal match on the same night but lost 2-0. Alibhai was in action on Saturday night against top player Arjun Lavingia in the semifinal match, with the winner expected to face Kalpesh in today’s final.
In Division B category final, Rupesh Soni will meet Firoz Yusufali.
