Tanzanian Francis Miyeyusho was knocked out by Sukkassem Kietyongyuth of Thailand in the first minute 55 seconds of a scheduled 10 round non-title featherweight bout at PTA Hall in Temeke municipality, Dar es Salaam region on Saturday night.
Graced by the Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander, Suleiman Kova, the bout delayed for about 20 minutes as Miyeyusho refused to step into the ring demanding to be paid his dues.
Kova, whose younger brother Mussa organised the fight, intervened and the boxer was paid his money. It was evident from the onset that Miyeyusho would lose the bout as he lacked confidence and this gave Kietyongyuth an upper hand.
The Thai landed heavy punches on his opponent right from the first second and within the first 20 seconds Miyeyusho was knocked down.
The Tanzanian tried to stand up and Kietyongyuth followed him to the ropes with a flurry of punches to prompt referee Emmanuel Mlundwa to intervene and stop the contest in one minute 55 seconds.
Another Tanzanian Francis Cheka drew 76-76 with Iranian Gavad Zohrehvand in an eight round non-title light-heavyweight bout at the same venue.
However, the capacity crowd booed at the result as they felt Cheka was favoured. Cheka was vividly out of form and the Iranian dictated terms throughout the bout.
In the last round Cheka was overwhelmed and was served by the bell. In a featherweight support card, Tasha Mjuaji beat Steven Anastazi by points, Fabian Lyimo triumphed over Ramadhani Mnandi in featherweight as Adam Rashid won a points verdict over Ramadhani Rajab in light-flyweight.
Sadik Momba beat Epson John on points in a four round light-flyweight bout while Ibrahim Class outclassed Mustafa Dotto.
