The Castle Lager Perfect Six zonal finals ended in Mbeya with Green City beating Savannah from Iringa 8-3 at the weekend.
Staged at the City Pub grounds, both teams fought gallantly to win a ticket to the grand finale involving eight zonal champions to be held in Dar es Salaam next month to pick a winner who will tour Camp Nou in Spain to watch FC Barcelona matches.
Green City’s Issa Nelson and Castro Kitongwale scored a hat-trick each and the other two goals were netted by Lambert. Savannah’s goals came through Enhard Mgeni (2) and Johnson Ngogo.
Four teams took part in the Southern Highlands Zone finals. They were Green City and White Stars from Mbeya and Iringa’s Savannah Gaddafi. Green City qualified for the final after pulverizing Gaddafi 9-0 while Savannah thrashed White Stars 5-3.
Castle Lager Southern Highlands Sales Manager Vivianus Rwezaura promised to give the winners maximum cooperation so that they can emerge national Castle Lager Perfect 6 champions.
Castle Lager Brand Manager Kabula Nshimo said the participating teams faced various challenges in the tournament and hoped that it has helped to inspire youngsters to love soccer.
