JKT Mbweni humiliated Polisi Mwanza 34-10 in the ongoing national First Division Netball League at the Jamhuri Stadium here.
In the match played on Tuesday morning, JKT Mbweni were unstoppable, reducing their opponents almost to novices to put themselves in a better position to win the top slots in the league which threw off over the weekend.
Polisi Mwanza played CIDT early in the morning and won 33-24 and in the following match, JKT Ruvu humbled Jeshi Stars 42-26. Polisi Dodoma also outsmarted Polisi Kigoma 33- 18, while Polisi Dodoma thrashed Polisi Arusha 34- 20.
In another match, Mbeya City won 30-18 over Tanzania Tobacco Processing Limited (TTPL).
Meanwhile, the Tanzania Amateur Netball Association, CHANETA, Chairperson Anna Kibira told the ‘Daily News’ that she is pleased with the standard exhibited by different teams in the league so far.
“I think we are slightly making progress into revamping netball standard in the country… I’m pleased with the organisation of the league and all teams seem to have prepared well this time around and there has been a stiff competition,” she noted.
She added that no injuries have occurred so far and players have showed high level of discipline. The league is expected to come to an end on Sunday.
