Ugandan teams National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and Prisons have suffered double injuries ahead of the East Africa Netball Club Championship, semi finals encounters slated for Friday at the Gymkhana Club in Zanzibar.

The Insurance side is likely to miss the services of their goal Shooter Stella Oyella during their vital encounter against JKT Mbweni Friday after she was diagnosed and found with a drop in her blood pressure on Wednesday.

But the illness according to head coach Vincent Kiwanuka might not affect the team’s performance so much although he says the number of goals expected from his side are likely to drop.

“If she is still not fine by the time of the game then we shall have no option but to play with the manpower I have although the number of goals is likely to drop in her absence,” he said.

Meanwhile the wardresses are also likely to face a similar challenge as they face Kenyan side MOICT in the other semi- final game after their Goal Attacker Dorothy Tabia got a fractured ankle on her right leg.

But although Prisons coach Imelda Nyongesa is sure her player will be fine and ready for the afternoon action, its also rumoured that Tabia might not be on the starting lineup due to her condition.

NIC on Thursday beat Uhamiaji 36-30 in their final group stage game that was delayed due to the heavy rain to finish at the top of the Pool A table with 10 points.

Their counterparts Prisons also beat JKU 37-32 in their final group stage game to book a lot in the semi’s at the weeklong event ending tomorrow at the same venue.

While other Ugandan side KCCA was knocked out of the contest on goal average. They finished with two wins together with MOICT and JKT.
