AllenVR Stanley International Secondary School targets winning the Junior Baseball Europe- Africa regional Tournament in Kutno Poland due July 2-9 and qualify for the World Series in USA.
Uganda baseball sports coordinator, Bernard Adei said the team has been training and is prepared for the event.
“It is our debut in this tournament but we are targeting nothing less than victory so that we can qualify for the 2015 Little League world baseball series in USA,” Adei stated.
“We have been working and we prepared to represent the country,” Adei added.
The 12-man squad between the age of 13 and 14 years leaves today, Friday, for the event and will battle teams from German, Austria, Czech, Belarus, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom and hosts Poland.
The squad includes Denis Achidri, Job Achon (Cpt), Daniel Alio, Tonny Okello Lajan,Lawrence Zinji,Sande Chandiga,Ivan Mukasa,Isaac Okong,Vicent Rukundo, Emmanuel Rukundo, Fred Ojerko and Steven Lematia.
The team is led by two coaches; Joseph Drotti and Evans Tetty.
