Airtel Tanzania has given away more than 40m/- price money of its ‘Mimi ni Bingwa’ promotion draw which seeks to reward its loyal customers as well as raising soccer spirit in Tanzania.
This was confirmed by Airtel Tanzania Public Relations Manager Jackson Mmbando during a live match between Manchester United and Newcastle United which was shown for free at Mbagala Zakiem in Dar es Salaam at the weekend.
He said apart from the prize money already sent to winners through Airtel Money, two winners of tickets of an all expense paid trip to watch live Manchester United matches at Old Trafford Stadium, in the United Kingdom, will be helped to process all travelling documents together with other two winners to be found during the third and fourth week draw.
Mmbando who during the event also announced other five winners of 1m/ each for this week, said the promotion which is a result of Manchester United Club partnership with the cellular company, not only aims at rewarding loyal customers, but will also connect subscribers to international soccer experience which will help raise sports spirit amongst Tanzanians.
“Airtel Tanzania has allocated several centres where soccer lovers will watch free Manchester United matches in big screens. We are today showing Mbagala residents a free match between Man U and Newcastle United, but we also have other stations where all Man United matches will be shown for free,” he said.
“In Mbeya, Shaba Pub will be showing all Man U matches free, Mwanza – Shooters Pub, Dodoma – Four ways, Dar es Salaam – Rose Garden, Morogoro – Nyumbani Lounge and Arusha – Empire Sports bar.”
Mmbando said that there are still many prices to be won stating that apart from the sh 2 million won daily, sh 10 million weekly and a ticket for two people weekly, there is still sh 50 million grand price to be won at the climax of the promotion.
He said that for one to enter the promotion, he/she should send a Short Message Service (SMS) with the word ‘BINGWA’ to number 15656.
Although Man U lovers suffered a heart-break of a one goal defeat from Newcastle United in a match played at Old Trafford Stadium they were thrilled by classic performance from artists like Nei Wa Mitego, Young Killer and Kinoko Comedy Group.
