The second edition of Serena Monthly Mug golf tournament tees off at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) course on Saturday.
According to Division C captain, Ali Shariff, preparations are complete to allow the 18 holes stroke play event to take place. “This monthly mug is sponsored by Serena Dar es Salaam Hotel and there are some exciting prizes to be won,” said Shariff.
He added that the course is in good shape and they expect to have an exciting monthly mug tournament and expressed his gratitude to the event sponsor.
Early this year DGC manager, Sophie Nyanjera, said that Serena Hotel will sponsor about five golf events this year. That started with February Monthly Mug Golf tournament which was won by Kausar Jeraj who posted a marvellous score of fourunder par 67 nett.
Serena Corporate Golf Day was held on May 10, this year in which Victor Joseph, Dimesh Mawji and Arif Nazarali won Division A, B and C after carding 35, 38 and 32 stable ford points respectively.
The hotel will also sponsor September Monthly Mug and November Monthly Mug. Meanwhile, the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana club has also organised a Family Fun Day event that will feature several sport activities. The event will take place at the football ground on Saturday.
