Lake Zone edge out North East

Lake Zone’s Richard Kambaseni was a hero for his team after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over North East zone, in the ongoing 20th edition of Inter-Primary School Games (UMITASHUMTA) at the Kibaha Education Centre.

Kambaseni scored the goals in 11th, 37th and 52nd minutes while North East Zone scored their goals through Augustino Vascal and Mbiliusi Musangi in the 22nd and 54th minutes.

In handball, Southern Highland defeated East Zone 18-3, while in girls’ category Western Zone won 10-6 against North East Zone.

Lake Zone triumphed in the 400×4 metres relay when Faustine Barak finished in the first place after clocking 3:44:19 minutes. The second slot went to Said Kipeche from Central zone who clocked 3:51:62 minutes.

Mariam Mwita from Lake Zone won the girls’ 400×4 metre relay after clocking 4:09:25 as Kristina Maneno from Southern Highlands came up second after finishing the race in 4:19.06 minutes.

Lake Zone’s Boy Nyamhanga triumphed in the boys’ high jump with 1. 60 metres while Omary Sita from Central Zone was the runner-up with 1.59 metres.

The girl’s high jump gold medal went to Elizaberth Mwita from Lake Zone who scored 1.41 metres. Velma Emmanuel also from Lake Zone clinched silver medal with 1.36 metres and Grace Mufita (1.34 metres) won bronze.

Aman Aboubakar from Lake Zone won the boys’ 100 metres final using 12.03 seconds with Alexander Vitus from Western Lake Zone taking the runner-up spot after clocking 12.09 seconds.

Christina Pascal of Western Zone team, won the Ladies’ 100 metres gold at 13.06 seconds, narrowly beating Rehema John from Eastern Zone who finished the race in 13.07 seconds.
